A team of negotiators from Qatar arrived in Tehran on Friday, coordinated with the United States, to try to reach an agreement to end the conflict with Iran. The visit takes place in a delicate context, with a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the American-Israeli coalition and persistent tensions in the Persian Gulf, which are affecting global energy markets. Qatar, which has played an important role in mediating regional crises, is returning to the diplomatic process after previously avoiding direct involvement. The Qatari delegation also aims to resolve outstanding issues, including Iran's uranium enrichment program and control over the Strait of Hormuz, where American blockades and Iranian restrictions complicate negotiations. Before the conflict, the Strait of Hormuz was crucial for global LNG trade, and Iranian attacks on Qatari infrastructure have significantly reduced the emirate's export capacity.
