Iran announced on Wednesday that it will use part of its frozen assets in Qatar to purchase necessary goods, following discussions in Doha related to a memorandum of understanding with the United States regarding the conclusion of the conflict in the Middle East.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated that during negotiations with Qatari officials, including the Central Bank, ways to spend a portion of the six billion dollars, representing oil revenues transferred from South Korea, were analyzed. The agreement stipulates that the frozen funds will be available as soon as the memorandum is implemented. Iran has been facing decades of American sanctions, and its assets abroad are estimated to be between 100 and 123 billion dollars.
