The spokesperson of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed al-Ansari, announced progress in the indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran, held in Doha, with Qatari and Pakistani mediators having separate meetings with each party.

These discussions focus on the memorandum of understanding from Islamabad, based on the results of the summit at Lake Lucerne. The negotiations, which began in June and were initially planned for 60 days, aim for a final agreement, but Iran refuses direct discussions with the US.

Although the signing of the memorandum of understanding has reduced the intensity of the conflict, tensions remain, especially regarding Iran's nuclear program and the unlocking of frozen assets. Iran has proposed imposing a toll for passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a measure rejected by the US.
