Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced that he will allocate hundreds of billions of dollars to develop the infrastructure needed for artificial intelligence, with the aim of creating a supercluster called Prometheus, which will be operational in 2026. It will offer the largest computing resources in the industry. The newly-formed Meta Superintelligence Labs will collaborate with top researchers to advance AI as part of a revised strategy to compete with OpenAI and Google.
