The leader of the French far-right, Marine Le Pen, has stated that she intends to run in the presidential elections of 2027, provided that the courts allow her to do so. In an interview, Le Pen emphasized that if she can be a candidate, she will do so, and Jordan Bardella, the current president of the National Assembly, will be her prime minister.
Although polls suggest that Bardella may have greater support (44% compared to 40% for Le Pen), she expressed confidence in his popularity and reaffirmed that the sharing of responsibilities between them is established. Le Pen is facing an appeal regarding a conviction that prohibits her from holding public office for five years, but she stated that she will not be discouraged and that she will fight for the French people's right to vote.
