The spokesperson for the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, stated that there is a large number of requests for Russian energy, in the context of a severe global energy crisis caused by conflicts in the Middle East, particularly the war between the USA and Israel against Iran, which has led to the blockage of oil supplies from the Persian Gulf. This crisis arises at a time when European consumers are trying to reduce their dependence on Russian energy in response to the invasion of Ukraine.

Peskov emphasized that Russia, the second largest oil exporter in the world, is facing a reduction in export capacity due to Ukrainian attacks on its oil infrastructure. At the same time, several Asian countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, are turning their attention to Russian oil, following supply blockages caused by the conflict in Iran. Russian Urals crude has been trading at a higher price than Brent oil, indicating an increase in demand. Russia continues to deliver liquefied gas to the East, with projects like Yamal LNG, which are redirecting supplies in the context of the bans imposed by the European Union.
