The Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, announced that Italy will continue and intensify its support for Ukraine, confirming the signing of assistance package number 12 at a meeting with European counterparts in Berlin. The new set of aid includes electric generators to help Ukraine cope with the winter, considering the Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. Crosetto emphasized that it would be 'absurd' for Italy not to continue military and civilian support, especially at this critical moment of the conflict.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is a strong supporter of Ukraine, but within the governing coalition, there are voices, such as Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who question the intensity of the aid, stating that Italy cannot continue to send resources in the long term. These political tensions reflect the internal debates regarding the government's policy in relation to the war in Ukraine.
