On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike hit the Palestinian refugee camp Ein el-Hilweh in Lebanon, resulting in the death of 13 people and injuring several others, according to government officials. A drone attacked a vehicle parked near a mosque in the camp. The Israeli army stated that it targeted a Hamas training complex used for preparing attacks against Israel, a claim disputed by Hamas, which condemned the attack as a lie and claimed that a sports field was hit.
This incident is part of the escalation of the conflict between Israel and armed groups in Lebanon, especially Hezbollah, which has begun launching rockets towards Israel in response to the attacks in Gaza. Although a ceasefire agreement was negotiated, Israel continues airstrikes, asserting that Hezbollah is rebuilding its capabilities. Over 270 people have been killed and approximately 850 injured as a result of Israeli military actions since the agreement came into effect.
