The Israeli army claimed an attack carried out on Wednesday in the town of Ain Qana, southern Lebanon, targeting a commander of Hezbollah's Radwan unit. According to the military statement, he was allegedly involved in the illegal introduction of weapons into Lebanon and in preparing actions against Israel, which would constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Although Israel has not presented evidence for these claims, the attack comes in a context of intensifying Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, despite the truce concluded in November. Israel claims that its operations exclusively target Hezbollah fighters, while the Lebanese group accuses Israel of repeatedly violating Lebanon's sovereignty and the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
