In a statement made to journalists during a visit to Hungary, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar emphasized Israel's opposition to the deployment of Turkish troops in Gaza, citing the long-standing hostility of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan towards the Israeli state. Saar mentioned that this position was communicated to American officials. The recent agreement, mediated by American President Donald Trump, provides for the creation of a force to monitor the ceasefire, but does not specify the countries that will contribute troops. The U.S. intends to collaborate with Arab and international partners to develop a temporary International Stabilization Force in Gaza, which will support Palestinian police forces. Currently, the first phase of the ceasefire agreement focuses on the release of deceased hostages from Gaza, in exchange for the bodies of Palestinians held by Israel.
