On October 7, Israel commemorates the over 370 victims of the Hamas attack at the Nova festival, in the context of indirect negotiations for the release of hostages from Gaza. The families of the victims demand justice and truth, organizing memorial ceremonies. Following the attack, Israel lost 1,219 people, and over 67,160 deaths have been reported in Gaza in the subsequent reprisals. The negotiations between Hamas and the Israeli government, facilitated by the U.S., aim at the release of hostages and a ceasefire.
