Netanyahu compared the September 11 terrorist attacks with Hamas's attack on October 7

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States and compared the attacks carried out by al-Qaida with Hamas’s offensive in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Netanyahu stated that both the United States and Israel had been struck by “pure evil” and criticized calls to understand the grievances and context in which terrorists operate. He argued that they hate the two states because they defend freedom, democracy, civilization, and life.

According to the cited data, the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and 250 people being captured in southern Israel. In response, the Israeli army launched military operations in the Gaza Strip, where the local Ministry of Health reports that more than 73,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women and children.
