Masoud Pezeshkian declared on Monday that Iran will receive 6 billion dollars from frozen funds in Qatar, according to the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States to end the conflict. Out of a total of 12 billion dollars, 6 billion will be released and repatriated to the country, while work is being done to recover the rest.

Pezeshkian described this agreement as a "great victory for the Iranian people" and mentioned the lifting of sanctions on the oil and petrochemical industry. However, the memorandum is under pressure, considering the recent tensions between Iran and the US regarding control of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic point for oil trade.

Iran claims it is responsible for traffic through the strait and warns that any attempt to reopen uncontrolled routes by Tehran will delay the reopening of the strait. According to Axios, the two countries have agreed to stop bombings and meet in Qatar for discussions.
