The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran will respect its international commitments, provided that the United States does the same.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian emphasized that "mutual understanding is a two-way street," adding that Iran will respond firmly to external threats. In this context, the U.S. special envoy, Steve Witkoff, is heading to Doha for discussions, while President Donald Trump announced a meeting with Iran on Tuesday. However, Iran has stated that no negotiation meetings with the U.S. are scheduled in the coming days, focusing instead on implementing the existing memorandum of understanding.
Although technical discussions continue as planned, Iran remains reluctant regarding direct negotiations with the U.S., emphasizing the importance of rationality and dignity in the approach to international relations.
