The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the United States will gain nothing from the new round of economic sanctions, emphasizing that Iran will remain firm in the face of economic pressures. In the context of Washington's threats of 'economic suffocation', Pezeshkian highlighted that Iran has endured severe sanctions for decades and that its main strategy is dialogue and negotiation.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, warned of the consequences for countries that do not join the sanctions campaign. Meanwhile, negotiations between Iran and the U.S. have stalled, especially regarding control over the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for global oil exports.

Iran has stated that it will not allow military vessels to transit the strait based on an agreement with Oman, which has generated tensions with Washington, which desires a return to free navigation. The Trump administration expressed opposition to aspects of the proposed agreement, threatening severe reprisals.
