The summoning of European ambassadors to Tehran was prompted by a statement from the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union calling on Iran to end the occupation of the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb. Iran considers these islands part of its territory and has rejected the accusations as unfounded. Additionally, Iranian officials have criticized statements regarding the nuclear program, viewing them as interference. Iran has suspended cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and does not intend to resume negotiations with European states in this context.
