Dacian Cioloș, former Prime Minister of Romania, stated that if elected Secretary General of the Francophonie, he will prioritize transforming the organization into a tool that provides concrete economic benefits, especially for young people.

In an interview with TVR Info, he emphasized the need for a "useful Francophonie" that goes beyond promoting the French language and culture, focusing on economy, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Cioloș believes that the Francophonie has an underutilized economic potential, comparing it to the Commonwealth, where economic cooperation is more developed.

Young people are a priority, and Cioloș emphasizes that their choice to learn the French language depends on the concrete opportunities it offers.

He also aims to promote women in the development of Francophone communities.

With extensive experience in government leadership and international organizations, Cioloș intends to use these skills to lead an international organization.

The results of the elections for the leadership of the Francophonie will be announced in November, at a meeting in Cambodia.
