Iran has rejected the statements of American President Donald Trump, who claimed that the United States has total control over the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime route for international trade.
The Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) stated that the strait remains blocked and will not be reopened until Iran's conditions are accepted. Trump asserted that the U.S. has total control over the strait, emphasizing his lack of trust in Iran and accusing the Iranians of lying. Before the current conflict, about one-fifth of the crude oil consumed globally was transported through this strait. The U.S. statements do not change the situation on the ground, according to the PGSA.
