Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, announced that Iran will not resume nuclear negotiations with the United States as long as Washington continues to make unreasonable demands. Previous indirect discussions, including meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, were suspended due to the excessive demands of the Americans. So far, Iran and the US have held five rounds of negotiations, which abruptly ended in June following an air conflict in which Israel and the US attacked Iranian nuclear sites. Although Iran denies that it seeks to develop nuclear weapons, the International Atomic Energy Agency has indicated uranium enrichment at levels inconsistent with civilian purposes and restricted access for inspectors. Israel claims that these actions demonstrate Iran's intentions to acquire nuclear capabilities.
