Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that the current approach of Washington does not reflect a willingness for "equal and fair negotiations." This came after American President Donald Trump suggested possible discussions, in the context of deteriorating relations between Iran and the US, especially after Israel's attack on Iran and American strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran has held five rounds of indirect talks with the US, but deadlocks, including the demand to abandon uranium enrichment, have hindered progress. Araqchi emphasized that Iran is open to diplomacy but will not accept negotiations with imposed conditions, accusing the US of pursuing the same objectives through "face-to-face negotiations" as during wartime.
