President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the United States has begun 'constructive discussions' with Iran, suggesting that there are chances for an agreement in the conflict between the two parties. However, he warned that airstrikes will resume if negotiations do not yield results.

Although Trump expressed optimism, Iran continued to carry out drone attacks, and Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Iraq reported incidents. Washington recently suspended a campaign of airstrikes against Iran, and Trump emphasized that the discussions are 'very friendly'.

The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Iran has not requested negotiations, and an Iranian official claimed that attacks will be suspended as long as the ceasefire unilaterally imposed by Trump is respected. At the same time, Iran accused the U.S. of threats against ships in its territorial waters. The suspension of attacks by the U.S. led to a decrease in oil prices, and the decision was influenced by advice from U.S. military leadership, which warned that bombings had reached the limits of effectiveness.
