Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis presented a fiscal package of 1.6 billion euros to combat the birth crisis in Greece, where the fertility rate is 1.4 children per woman. The measures include tax cuts for families, aimed at encouraging citizens to have children. The population could drop below 8 million by 2050, and the government acknowledges that the demographic decline affects health and pension systems. Despite previous initiatives, the effect of these policies has been limited due to the rising cost of living.
