The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced that, starting next month, the subsidy for diesel will be increased by 0.10 euros per liter, which will bring the total discount to 0.15 euros.

This measure, worth 30 million euros, aims to reduce costs for transport operators and companies, in the context of inflationary pressures generated by uncertainties in global energy markets, exacerbated by the conflict in the Middle East. The new subsidy adds to the current discount of 0.05 euros per liter offered by refineries in Greece.

In March, Greece announced subsidies for fuels, fertilizers, and discounts on ferry tickets, totaling 300 million euros, to counteract the economic impact of the war in Iran. Farmers benefit from a 15% subsidy for fertilizers, and ferry companies will receive compensation to keep ticket prices at last year's levels.
