Greece will raise the gross minimum wage to €960 per month starting April 1, 2027, according to Kathimerini. The increase is €40 above the current level and will give minimum-wage employees an additional net gain of nearly €32 per month.
The gross increase will not be reflected in employees’ income in full, as part of it will go toward taxes and social contributions. However, the impact will be limited by a 0.5 percentage-point reduction in the contributions owed by employees.
For an employee with less than three years of service, gross income will rise from €920 to €960, while net pay will reach approximately €803.24, compared with €771.67 currently. The estimated net increase is €31.57 per month, or approximately €378.80 per year.
Employees with more than three years of service will see their gross salary rise to €1,056, from €1,012, while net income will increase from €835.04 to approximately €868.89 per month. In this case, the estimated monthly net benefit is €33.85.
For Greece’s economy, the European Commission forecasts growth of 1.8% in 2026 and 1.6% in 2027. The IMF estimates growth of 1.8% in 2026 and 1.7% in 2027.
