During the discussions, in which the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, also participated, the necessity to intensify pressure on Russia to end the conflict was emphasized. The G7 agreed to increase the economic costs for Russia and to impose sanctions against those who support its war efforts. Canada announced new sanctions, and the United Kingdom promised financial support for Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The ministers also condemned the escalation of violence in Sudan and emphasized the need to intervene in the humanitarian situation.

The G7 includes Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, and ministers from other countries were also invited to the meeting.
