At the G7 Summit held in Evian, France, American President Donald Trump stated that Russia should make peace with Ukraine, following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy advisor, estimated that European leaders have negatively influenced Trump's opinions, suggesting that he has been misinformed about the situation in Ukraine.
Ushakov emphasized that Russia is waiting for a visit from Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Additionally, G7 leaders agreed to increase military aid to Ukraine and impose new sanctions on Russia. Ushakov challenged claims that the Ukrainian army is in a more favorable position, emphasizing that Ukrainian drone attacks complicate the prospects for direct negotiations between Putin and Zelensky.
