Multiple explosions were heard Thursday morning in central Kyiv, in the context of a warning from Ukrainian authorities regarding a Russian attack.
The head of the local military administration, Timur Tkachenko, informed the population to remain in shelters while air defense was engaged against drones and ballistic missiles. Other cities, such as Kharkiv, were also targeted, with the mayor reporting explosions caused by drone and missile attacks. In Kryvyi Rih, an 89-year-old man was injured following an attack that damaged a building. In Zaporizhzhia, explosions related to Russian attacks were also heard there.
These events occurred just a few hours before the meeting between Ukrainian and American envoys in Geneva, which aims to resume trilateral discussions with Russia to end the conflict, which has entered its fifth year.
