European Union job vacancy rate fell to 2.2% in the first quarter of 2025, with the lowest in Romania and Poland

The European Union's job vacancy rate has fallen from 2.3% in the last three months and from 2.6% in the same period in 2024, according to Eurostat. Romania recorded the lowest rate at 0.6%, followed by Poland, Spain and Bulgaria. In contrast, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria had the highest rates. Compared with the previous year, the rate rose in five Member States and fell in 20, with the largest increase in Lithuania and the most severe fall in Greece and Austria.
