The Council of the European Union has approved a €1.9 billion financial package to support reforms and economic growth in Moldova.

The financial package, the largest granted to Moldova since independence, will support the reforms needed for EU integration and boost the economy in the face of the challenges posed by the war in Ukraine. Of the total amount, €385 million are grants and €1.5 billion are concessional loans, released on the basis of the fulfillment of agreed reform conditions. Disbursements will be made every six months following Commission assessments.
