At the end of the EU - Moldova Summit in Brussels, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, announced that the EU will unlock 523 million euros for Moldova, on the condition that the authorities in Chișinău complete the committed reforms.

Additionally, a new security support package of 120 million euros will be available, as well as funds to combat hybrid attacks and strengthen border infrastructure. Von der Leyen emphasized that Moldova has fulfilled 93% of the commitments outlined in the EU Growth Plan.

President Maia Sandu highlighted the support of citizens and the progress made, while Antonio Costa, the President of the European Council, acknowledged Moldova's commitment to reforms. The summit took place after the opening of negotiations on the accession chapters, strengthening the relations between Moldova and the EU.
