The European Union has transferred Ukraine a first tranche of military aid worth 3.9 billion euros, part of a total loan of 90 billion euros, intended to support Kyiv.

These funds, announced on Tuesday by the European Commission, are intended for the purchase of drones, essential for Ukraine's defense against the Russian invasion. The loan, decided at the beginning of the year, includes 60 billion euros for military aid and 30 billion euros for budget support in the years 2026 and 2027.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, emphasized the importance of these investments for protecting Ukrainian citizens and strengthening European security. She reaffirmed Europe's commitment to support Ukraine until a just and lasting peace is achieved.
