Speaking at a conference in Padua, Crosetto emphasized that the world has changed significantly since 30 years ago and international relations need to be rebuilt. Speaking at the NATO summit in The Hague, he criticized the alliance for missing its original defense mission and stressed the need to engage more with the Global South. Crosetto said both the European Union and the UN no longer have influence on the global stage, comparing their relevance to that of great powers like China and India.
