The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens that, from December 24, 2025, to January 4, 2026, Bulgaria will impose temporary traffic restrictions for trucks weighing over 12 tons, due to the heavy traffic typical of the holidays. This measure does not apply to public passenger transport. The Bulgarian authorities have established two intervals with complete prohibitions for these vehicles, aiming to ease traffic on days with a high number of trips.

On the Hemus and Struma highways, certain segments will be exempt from restrictions, and on the Trakia highway, ADR vehicles will be allowed to travel on a specified sector. Additionally, on December 24, 2025, reversible traffic will be implemented in the Blagoevgrad area, thus facilitating travel towards Kulata. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Romanian drivers to plan their routes in advance and to follow official updates to avoid delays.
