BBC is preparing to apologize for editing a speech by former American President Donald Trump, broadcast during the Panorama program, accused of being manipulated to mislead the public. A leaked memo revealed that the editing omitted a part where Trump urged supporters to express themselves "passionately and patriotically," focusing only on his call to "fight hard." BBC Chairman Samir Shah will respond to the Culture, Media and Sport Committee of Parliament, which has raised serious questions about the corporation's editorial standards. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy criticized the BBC's editorial decisions, stating that they are not always well thought out. In the wake of the scandal, reactions have been varied, including from the former Trump administration, which accused the BBC of "fake news." Nandy emphasized that it is essential for the BBC to maintain standards of accurate and impartial reporting in an increasingly polarized media landscape.
