German police arrested a 27-year-old Bosnian man in a special operation in Essen and Dortmund in western Germany. The investigation was initiated on suspicion of organized gang swindling, but extended to the possible financing of an Islamist terrorist attack. Details of the attack plot have not been revealed and the investigation continues. Additional searches were carried out at the homes of other people believed to be witnesses.
