Germany is in contact with the Romanian authorities to discuss the possible extradition of a man detained in Romania, linked to the discovery of a weapons cache near Berlin.
The German Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt, stated that the suspect may be involved in planned attacks in Romania, including with booby-trapped packages. Dobrindt emphasized that this case highlights a high level of threat and does not exclude the involvement of foreign powers, especially Russian intelligence services.
Two pistols and ammunition were found in the cache, and German authorities suspect that they were to be used in attacks against specific targets, including figures from the defense industry and supporters of Ukraine. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Prosecutor's Office, which is investigating the planning of a serious act of violence.
Germany has consistently warned about the threats posed by Russia, which have intensified since the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
