The Latvian authorities have announced a new air threat in the eastern part of the country, mobilizing NATO fighter jets to monitor the airspace. The Latvian Armed Forces have strengthened air defense at the eastern border and deployed additional units. At the same time, a Romanian F-16 shot down a drone that entered Estonian airspace, an incident confirmed by NATO. Kiev accuses Russia of sabotage through electronic warfare, claiming that Ukrainian drones are being redirected towards the Baltic states. Latvia has issued air alerts and mobilized NATO aircraft, while Estonian authorities continue the search to recover the wreckage of the downed drone. The Romanian Minister of Defense praised the success of the Romanian pilot, proposing a distinction for his actions. The incident highlights the tensions in the region and the risks associated with Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
