The mobilization, organized by FNSEA and Young Farmers, took place a few days before the signing of the agreement, criticized for its negative impact on European agriculture due to cheaper imports that do not meet EU standards. Farmers, who are facing crises such as nodular dermatitis and rising costs, emphasized the need to maintain food sovereignty. Similar demonstrations have also taken place in other European countries, and the ratification of the agreement depends on the vote of the European Parliament, which is expected to be tight. A large gathering of farmers is planned in Strasbourg on January 20.
