Researchers have discovered that the vaccine against shingles can reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke by nearly one-fifth. The study, led by Dr. Charles Williams from GSK, analyzed vaccination data and found an 18% reduction in cardiovascular risk among adults over 18 years old, and 16% for those over 50. The results will be presented at a cardiology conference, but the researcher emphasizes the need for further studies to confirm these results. Shingles, caused by the chickenpox virus, can lead to severe complications.
