The Ministry of Health announces that 370,000 doses of flu vaccine are available in warehouses across Romania and can be ordered by pharmacies. The information, released on Tuesday and based on data from the National Agency for Medicines, comes after a vaccine shortage in pharmacies, where stocks delivered at the end of September were quickly depleted.
A new delivery of approximately 500,000 doses is expected in mid-November, to continue the flu vaccination campaign.
As of October 18, 2026, the National Electronic Vaccination Registry listed 400,259 people who had been vaccinated. Of these, 393,552 received subsidized vaccination, while 3,069 doses were administered in authorized community pharmacies.
Authorities and doctors particularly recommend vaccination for people over 65, children, patients with chronic illnesses, pregnant women and medical staff. Eligible individuals can receive subsidized vaccines, in accordance with the criteria currently in force.
In Romania, the authorized vaccines are Vaxigrip, Influvac, Fluenz and Efluelda. The first two are intended for adults, Fluenz for children and adolescents, and Efluelda for people over 60.
