The weekend offered a true sporting spectacle, with news of individual performances, administrative tensions and high-stakes duels in domestic and international football. Beyond the news, several trends are emerging: the affirmation of Romanian athletes on the international scene, pressure on coaches at the end of the SuperLeague, tensions between clubs and officials and a buzz on the transfer market.

- PAOK/Răzvan Lucescu: PAOK miss out on a UEFA Champions League berth after Olympiakos beat them 4-2.

- Pisa: Pisa returns to Serie A after a 34-year absence. Marius Marin, Olimpiu Moruțan and Adrian Rus are the three Romanians who have played their part in the promotion.
