Sometimes you want to go out, but you stay home because many activities cost money? We have compiled a list of 5 recreational and/or cultural activities in Bucharest that won't cost you a dime:

Photo-Psychological Exhibition "Shadows of the Mind"; March 26; 6:00 PM; Casa Presei Libere (Scânteia+)

World-renowned photographer Roger Ballen, originally from South Africa, will hold an exhibition featuring eight photographic series that represent different stages of Ballen's work and provide an overview of his stylistic transition.

The photographs will also explore the "theater of the psyche", that is, those obscure, unconscious areas where reason no longer has control. The exhibition will be curated by Dr. Hercules Papaioannou, curator at MOMUS-Museum of Photography in Thessaloniki since 1999, an institution he also led from 2016 to 2018.

Magazine Launch, Indie-Alt-Rock Concert, and Afterparty; March 27; 7:00 PM; Club Control (Berlin Room and Front Room)

The magazine MATCA is launching a new issue, along with a concert, at Control club, in the Berlin room and front room. Doors open at 7 PM, at 7:45 the #12 issue of the magazine will be presented, featuring the work of photographer Ioana Moldovan, followed by a concert by the band "The Cryptonite Sparks". The trio does not conform to a specific musical genre, as their music is a mix of indie, alternative rock, and hard rock, with a modern vibe, perfect for Friday night energy.

If you want to leave later, Club Control is also organizing an after-party at 9 PM.

PoliFEST; March 26-28; National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (Splaiul Independenței Campus)

The largest educational festival in the field of engineering and technology. You can visit laboratories, see spectacular chemical experiments, and AI applications. It is an excellent place for networking with large companies if you are looking for an internship or job.

Thursday Conferences: "The History of Unseen Bucharest"; March 26; 6:30 PM, Palatul Suțu (University)

The Museum of Bucharest Municipality organizes weekly conferences. This week's theme focuses on the evolution of religious communities and the structure of old parishes in Bucharest.

Nichita Stănescu Days; March 27-31; MNLR Headquarters (Str. Nicolae Crețulescu no. 8)

This week celebrates the birth of the poet (March 31). The National Museum of Romanian Literature (MNLR) organizes public readings, manuscript exhibitions, and archival interview projections. It is a fundamental event for anyone wanting to understand the pillars of contemporary Romanian literature.
