Bucharest will have, for the first time, a cultural district bringing together three major museums in the Șoseaua Kiseleff area. The “Museum Triangle” project, launched by Bucharest City Hall and District 1 City Hall, begins on September 19 and 20 with a weekend of events dedicated to children and families.

The “Grigore Antipa” National Museum of Natural History, the National Geological Museum and the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant will be connected by a shared public space. The area between the institutions will become a cultural promenade, featuring 18 creative and interactive workshops, meetings with researchers and museum specialists, musical activities, concerts, creative recycling, a film screening and a treasure hunt.

The first edition is dedicated to Dobrogea and will present the region from three perspectives: Land, Nature and People. Visitors will discover geological formations, the Black Sea, the Danube Delta and the traditions of Romanian, Lipovan, Turkish, Tatar, Greek, Aromanian and Bulgarian communities.

The initiative is designed as a pilot project for the development of a permanent cultural district in the Kiseleff area. The authorities intend to renovate and connect the public spaces around the museums through urban regeneration and landscaping projects, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.

Two investments were also announced alongside the launch: the construction of a new building for the Antipa Museum and the strengthening and restoration of Samurcaș Villa, administered by the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant. Funding will be provided through the “Cultural Foundations” project, supported by a loan granted to Romania by the Council of Europe Development Bank.
