In 2024, eight of Sweden's 277 glaciers have completely disappeared, confirming the impact of climate change, according to the Tarfala Research Center. Director Nina Kirchner stated that these glaciers will not be restored within our lifetimes. Additionally, in Switzerland, the Gries glacier is rapidly retreating, with a loss of 800 meters in length between 2000 and 2023. Experts are warning about the devastating effects of global warming on these fragile ecosystems.
