The partial elections for the Municipality of Bucharest will take place on December 7, 2025, and the parties and independent candidates have already designated their representatives. The submission of candidacies will take place between November 11 and 17, and the electoral campaign will start on November 22. Among the candidates are Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), the current mayor of Sector 6; Daniel Băluță (PSD), mayor of Sector 4; Cătălin Drulă (USR), former Minister of Transport; Ana Ciceală (SENS and URS.PDF), former general councilor of the Capital; Anca Alexandrescu (independent, supported by AUR and PNȚCD), journalist and TV producer; Alexandru Virgil Zidaru (independent), influencer and former parliamentary advisor SOS; and Vlad Dan Gheorghe (independent), former MEP. There is an acute state of dissatisfaction regarding how this city looks and functions. Bucharest is suffocated, and changes are happening far too slowly,” said political analyst Remus Ștefureac. He emphasized that recent polls show a clear preference of the electorate for an “experienced administrator,” not for a debut candidate. Bucharest residents, dissatisfied with the current administration, are waiting for a leader to respond to the urgent needs of the city. Ciprian Ciucu, the favorite in the polls, promises a transparent and efficient administration, while Daniel Băluță and Cătălin Drulă have notable achievements in the field of infrastructure. Anca Alexandrescu, with a career in journalism, presents herself as a candidate who fights “against the system,” while Ana Ciceală focuses on environmental protection actions. Other candidates, including influencers and activists, bring a diversity of perspectives to the electoral race.
