Romeo Lungu, following the decision of Mayor Constantin Toma to run as an independent: "2028 will be the moment when this election will be tested by vote"

The president of the PSD Buzău county branch, Romeo Lungu, reacted to the announcement of the mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, who decided to run as an independent, giving up the social-democrat support.

Romeo Lungu stated that Toma's choice will be evaluated by vote in 2028, emphasizing that his success was not achieved alone, but with the help of the PSD organization. He reminded that Toma benefited from the support of his colleagues and the party structures during the three terms he won.

Lungu declared that PSD Buzău will not turn the next two years "into a conflict with the mayor," but will prepare for the local elections in 2028.

He also emphasized that Toma, although still a PSD member, will have to reconcile these two roles in the upcoming period.
