Constantin Toma, the mayor of Buzău, declared on Wednesday that he does not intend to run again on behalf of the Social Democratic Party, after resigning from all positions held in the party at the beginning of June.

Toma mentioned that his first option is to run as an independent in the upcoming local elections, emphasizing that this is his personal decision. Additionally, the mayor left open the possibility of accepting support from another political party, without specifying which one it could be. Toma categorically excluded collaboration with AUR or SOS Romania.

In the last local elections, he obtained 78% and, respectively, 67% of the votes.
