The Bucharest Municipality School Inspectorate (ISMB) has launched the official guide for candidates for admission to the 9th grade, school year 2026–2027.
The admission average is calculated as the arithmetic mean of the grades from the National Assessment, without taking into account the average of the middle school years, which becomes only a tiebreaker criterion.
In the case of equal averages, students will be ranked based on the overall average from grades V–VIII, the grade in Romanian Language, the grade in Mathematics, and, where applicable, the grade in the mother tongue.
The allocation is done through an automatic algorithm, with students being ordered in descending order based on their average and allocated to the first available option.
The admission calendar includes the completion of options between July 13–20, 2026, allocation on July 22, and submission of files to high schools between July 23–28.
Students who choose vocational high schools must take aptitude tests, and those who opt for bilingual classes must pass written and oral exams.
Additionally, there are special places for vulnerable students, and their allocation will take place on July 16, 2026.
