Tiberiu Dănețiu, a member of Auchan Romania’s Institutional Affairs board, called on the Government and local administrations to support the Tour of Romania cycling race during the launch of the third edition of the NewMoney–INSCOP Entrepreneurs’ Barometer, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in Bucharest. He argued that the event helps promote Romania’s image and generates direct economic benefits for host communities.
Dănețiu said that the Tour of Romania is one of the main international competitions held annually in the country and cited as an example the occupation of more than 2,000 hotel rooms during the previous edition, over the course of five to six days. In his view, the involvement of public authorities can amplify the competition’s economic and tourism impact.
The Auchan representative also spoke about economic patriotism, noting that most of the food products sold by the retailer come from local producers. The event was part of the New Economic Patriotism project.
The barometer, conducted by INSCOP Research for New Money magazine, analyzes entrepreneurs’ views on the economy, public services, their own businesses, and relations with the European Union and the Republic of Moldova. The survey was conducted between October 19 and 26, 2026, through telephone interviews, among a sample of 1,100 entrepreneurs.
