The Satu Mare County Council announced that the Satu Mare – Baia Mare Express Road has received a favorable opinion from the Interministerial Council for the Approval of Public Works, led by Minister Cseke Attila. This opinion is an important step before the technical-economic indicators are submitted for government approval. The project is expected to have a length of 59.17 km, with 2 lanes in each direction, 7 road junctions, 35 underpasses, and 18 bridges.

The total investment amounts to 5.93 billion lei, with funding provided from non-reimbursable external funds and the state budget. The estimated duration of the works is 42 months, and the launch of the bidding for design and execution is planned for the first quarter of 2026. This road will facilitate a fast and modern connection between the two important cities.
